Description
In the autumn term of 2026, Säffle Municipality is launching a new initiative: Seniors in Schools.
As a senior in school, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our students' education and development. It is a meaningful volunteer role where you share your life experience and knowledge.
Before starting, you will be offered a training package covering topics such as:
- Organization and core values
- Accessible learning environments
- Familiarity with the national curriculum
- Interaction with students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF/ADHD/ASD)
This is a volunteer position, meaning no salary is provided.
Responsibilities
We want you to contribute your own knowledge and interests. Tasks may include:
- Participating in specific lessons and activities
- Assisting with reading practice and homework help
- Contributing to a safer and calmer school environment by being present in classrooms and common areas
- Eating lunch with the children
Please note: As a senior in school, you will never be alone with the students. Other school staff will always be present.
Qualifications
- You are a pensioner or have left the workforce behind you
- Prior pedagogical experience is preferred but not required
- You enjoy meeting people and are motivated to contribute to the development of children and young people
Conditions
- You decide how often you wish to be at the school, but we estimate the assignment will vary between two to five hours per week.
- No salary is provided as this is volunteer work.
- You are offered lunch in the municipal cafeteria in connection with each work session.
- You are covered by the municipality's liability insurance.
- You must provide a current extract from the Swedish Police Authority's register of convictions and suspicions (belastnings- och misstankeregistret).
